Jen began dancing in 1999 when she entered an Instructor Training program at an independent dance studio, and began teaching soon after. In November of 1999, she partnered with Jorge Braga and began competing in February, 2000 in the NDCA Professional American Rhythm Division. In March, 2000, she opened a studio in Las Vegas with Jorge in an attempt to pass on the passion that they shared for dance
In May, 2001, Jen moved to Oregon and began teaching full-time throughout the Northwest. She has competed on the Swing Circuit throughout the country and has placed in Classic, Showcase, and in Jack & Jill Competitions. Her competition highlights include Finalist Professional American Rhythm (Southwest Regionals 2000), 2nd in Classic Swing (Bridgetown Swing Boogie 2001), 2nd in Showcase Swing (Swingtime in the Rockies 2002), and 3rd Place in All-Stars Jack & Jill Swing (Capital Swing 2005) to name a few. She has also taken many students to a variety of Ballroom, Swing, and Country events, where they have been very successful and had a lot of fun in Pro-Am Competitions.
Though she relocated to Virginia from the PNW in the summer of 2019, Jen still finds personal reward in continuing to teach at various events throughout the country as time and homestead allow. She enjoys combining the variety of training that she has and her love of dancing to bring her students and audiences fun and enjoyment.
